August 23, 2011 - Flight after Work

One of my friends at work loves the RV -- I took him for a brief ride a year or so ago -- and we've been meaning to do it again.  Although the weather hasn't been that great lately, it was good for one day, so after work on Tuesday we headed to the airport.

My rider is known simply as "Bader".   Here he is standing by the RV.

Taxiing at Essex Skypark.

Bader is pretty excited about the flight.

We crossed over the Bay to the Eastern Shore, and flew the Choptank River down to Cambridge, then back up along the Wye River.   Most passengers can't take the G forces without feeling sick but Bader is an iron man.  I think I would start feeling nauseous before he would!

Cruising down the Choptank River.

Two happy dudes.

A replica steam-powered paddle boat near Cambridge.

Approaching Saint. Michaels, which is a quaint little village with restaurants and inns.

Over Saint Michaels.

Basking in the glory that is flying the RV ...

Bader and I both enjoyed the flight and celebrated by having some burgers and beer at the famous "Landings" bar restaurant -- unique by virtue of having a P-40 Kittyhawk on the roof.
